~Ker-Huei In Da House~: I SURVIVED 30HOUR FAMINE 2010 (Day 1)

Is it piece of cake?? Seriously, think twice..

I don't think introduction is necessary right.. but still I'mma cut short on this by just letting ya'll know what ya'll don't know..=P
Simple.. First, the camp that I went was in Miri, Sarawak (14-15 August 2010).. over 600++ people joined.. and that made the second largest camp in Msia.. ( largest was definitely in KL la, and so again, it means the largest in East Msia.. =) )
Second, it was my first time joining it.. Was kinda excited at first cuz it was a challenge for me and friends.. Well, it's indeed a challenge after all.. ;)

Anyway, CUT THE CRAP AND I'MMA GET TO THE POINT!!

FIRST POINT!! Well.. the obvious and wise decision is to.. MAKAN KAU KAU FIRST FOR BREAKFAST!!!
and I'mma let the HELL LOTS OF PHOTOS to do the talking.. ;)

The 24 whatever Chinese drums played by these kids to start off the ceremony.. But there were only 23 that time.. =_=

Well.. these kids weren't bad at all.. They kinda impressed me though.. and...

Me: Yap, in the future, will you let your children to learn this??
Yap: *thinks awhile* Yes, I will..
Me: Yerr!! So chinese!! Hmph.. But not bad la.. Quite cool also.. Haha

So after all that, it was the real official opening ceremony by the mayor of Miri.. Speeches, national and state anthem..

The fast started at exactly 10am..

After all that, there was a singing performance by one of the miss whatever from Sabah.. Well, not bad.. and the committees told us to get down near the stage to so called cheer and support the singer.. Meanwhile...

People were 'fighting' for chance to snap photos with these miss..miss whatever..

Well.. what do ya know.. we managed to have a shot with Miss Edwina Yong, apparently the most beautiful model there.. ;)

We were told to bring down all of our belongings and formed 2 giant circles.. We had no idea at first until...


Spot-check by the volunteers (people in yellow) checking for food or phones..

YES!!! PHONES WERE STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED IN THE CAMP!! So we had to silent and off them.. =_= Well.. can't blame them.. Besides starving like how the poor children do, the point of this camp is to let us feel how it feels like of not having technologies and other luxurious benefits..

Alright, so moving on.. It was time for more entertainment and performance.. Let's give a big applause to these local artists whom names I haven't even heard before!! Woohoo!! ( LAME.. =_= )

Okay.. here's the "best" part.. =_=
We lined up in 24 rows both horizontal and vertical ways, got separated from friends and formed a new group with the 24 people, aka new friends.. =_=

Well that wasn't it.. every group had to participate in all the activities and what I mean by activities are.. GAMES!! =_=
This was the part that we didn't enjoy at all.. It's called station game and it was rather lame.. involves running and completing quests.. Me, Erik and few others didn't really participate.. We just followed where ever our groups go.. and most of all, complained all the way.. Haha!! =P

People were everywhere looking for a 'station' for clues and quests

This activity lasted for an hour plus.. I really didn't get the point of it..until the end of it.. There were actually meanings behind it.. We had to collect rubbish, acted like 'whores and gigolos' (don't get it wrong, it has to do at all with the real whores and gigolos) and a lot more.. can't remember much..
There are really poor people out there had to collect rubbish and sell bodies to earn a living and sometimes life just isn't fair so, in a way, it's to make us feel and aware of how tough their life's are..

After the game, we were told to line up again.. And out of nowhere, I don't know what triggered these people to...

Well, as usual.. me and friends weren't lame to follow them..
WHAT!! WE'RE COOL OKAY!! =-= Haha!!

After the crowd got under control, back to our lines, the committees kept playing a song called, Tomorrow明天孩有希望(i just copy and paste.. cant read a single word.. haha) wanted us to sing along.. And so ya know...

Guess what.. BELLY DANCE!! WOOHOO!! The part where I enjoyed the most in the camp.. =D hahah!!

She, the one with Japanese look was the hottest.. ;)

Damn.. they could really shake for real ya know.. =P

Ohya.. forgot to mention.. Throughout the camp, they kept playing "Waka-waka" continuously.. Consequence, we freaking hate that song already.. Reason, they used this song to perform the "Waka-waka" dance by the committees.. And we're supposed to learn how to dance too..
So.. they dragged some of the participants to get on stage and danced together..
Here's the worst nightmare....
